Use Live Cameras
Review UniFi Protect camera availability, live context and the network each camera depends on.
Outcome
Distinguish a camera issue from a network, uplink or Protect authorization problem.

Complete guide to Use Live Cameras
When you do this
Use Live Cameras when a camera is unavailable, a stream cannot open or you need to relate Protect status to the camera's network path.
What this means
Live Cameras combines authorized UniFi Protect camera information with network evidence. It helps determine whether the issue belongs to the camera, PoE, switch path, Protect service or local authorization.
Before you start
- The site must have a supported UniFi Protect environment.
- The local Connector must be authorized to the correct Protect console.
- Confirm that you are permitted to view the selected camera.
Do this step by step
- 1Check Camera inventory to see whether one camera or the whole Protect service is affected.
- 2Open Camera detail and confirm identity, availability and latest evidence.
- 3Use Network dependency to trace the serving switch, port and uplink.
- 4Check PoE and site health before restarting the camera.
- 5Open Live view only when supported local connectivity and authorization are available.
How to know it worked
The correct camera shows current availability and either opens its supported live view or provides a clear network or authorization cause.
If it does not work
- If every camera is unavailable, check Protect access and the console before troubleshooting individual ports.
- If one camera is offline, inspect its PoE port and uplink path.
- If status is current but live video fails, confirm local streaming support and user permission.
Important
Camera streams are sensitive. AXORIK must preserve customer authorization and never treat cloud telemetry alone as permission to display video.
What you will see on this page
These are the exact AXORIK sections to look for. Read them in the order shown unless the complete guide directs you to a specific finding.
Camera inventory
Lists authorized Protect cameras and their current availability.
Live view
Opens the available camera stream when the local Protect connection supports it.
Camera detail
Shows camera identity, status and related operational evidence.
Network dependency
Connects the camera to its switch, port and site health context.
Recommended workflow
Follow these steps in order. If a step is blocked, resolve it before moving to the next one.
Confirm Protect access
Verify that the local Connector is authorized to the correct Protect environment.
Check camera status
Identify whether one camera or the whole Protect service is affected.
Inspect the network path
Review the serving port, uplink and site evidence before restarting anything.
Open camera detail
Use the detail view for the available live and operational context.
Safety and interpretation
- Live video depends on supported local connectivity.
- Cloud telemetry alone does not provide a camera stream.
- Camera downtime may originate from PoE or network failure.
